In 2004 the Lakin family donated 10 acres of land to St. John Vianney Catholic Church. The nuns began working from this property in 1996 and now because of the Lakin's generous donation the church will be able to continue their mission of helping the families of Las Ligas. In appreciation, the Church very kindly named the property “Lakin Park”.

More recently, Chuck and Maxine Lakin pledged their support to the University of Arizona Foundation. Their generosity helped build “Lakin Plaza” which benefits the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Their legacy as UA Alumni and business leaders will be permanently recognized by future generations of students and faculty members.

The Lakin family has pledged 40 areas of land named “Lakin Farm” to the Arizona Farming & Ranching Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame organization intends to build – Four Rivers Heritage Center. The Center will house a conference center, ranch house museum, exhibition space, corral, and demonstration farm. It will become a destination point for the State of Arizona.
